Direction, Concept, Design, Animation

Due to Covid, 2020 was the first time The New Yorker Festival took things fully viritual.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Mercy Lomelin to create a design system and anthem film to kick off this storied event, as well as a graphics package used during the livestreams.

With this being a very NYC-centric event, we had to consider in detail what makes New York the city the cultural hotspot that it is - including internal discussions of what makes a bagel a ‘proper nyc bagel’. (capers do go on salmon & cream cheese bagels!)
Our approach to a minimalist painterly style lended itself well with a more formal presentation as well as blending wonderfully with a more playful and fluid side.
